Dinneen,
As I take a look back right now, one of the first things I'm drawn to is the connections I've made...and how meaningful many of them are in my life.

So, as I read here today - I love your 5x5 challenge (and, in a way it scares me a little, too) (grin).

Your site looks great - and...I'm excited to be here, and soaking in your wonderful words....

Excellent Nina! Yes, I see too many gifted, talented and spirited people 'doing' things but not actually taking action in order build the business of their dreams and reaching (and helping) the people they're meant to help.

So yes, take action!

Oh, yes. Dinneen, I suspected when we met that we might be related, but now I'm sure of it. I'm a recovering perfectionist. It's fine when I put the perfectionism to work on the resumes I write so every comma is in place, but when it comes to my business plan, not so much. I've learned to just start and then make course corrections, to think of projects as works in progress, as you mentioned. The perfect plan is never perfect enough. Great blog, Dinneen. Glad you're speaking!

Excellent point. It's not about products anymore. It's about the EXPERIENCE. That's why dentist offices have peaceful waterfalls and grocery stores have coffee bars. Great analogies here, and lots to learn from the brands you mention.

Nathalie,

Glad you liked the example....it really shows how there is so much more to selling than 'just the facts.' So great to hear about your own ah-ha moment! It really is amazing how a small insight can make a big difference :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Tina,

I love how you shut out the 'noise'...excellent!

I especially love the first one, stopped reading 'crabgrass posts.' It's SO important to be surrounded by (and even reading posts by) those who motivate you and bring you up. So right on!

Thanks for your insight -- love it!

Sooooo true Dinneen! I am learning to shut out the noise and move full throttle! Great advice!

I shut the noise out by doing two things:

1--Stopped reading 'crabgrass posts'. Determined who motivated me and who was clogging up the drain field.

2--Made lists and checked off daily successes.

3--Use my 'white board' to remind me of the monthly goals. As a long range blue sky thinker, I can get caught up in the development and forget to focus on the day-to-day.

4--Work hour-by-hour vs. day-to-day. Set a timer and "buzz" move on to the next to-do.

5--Reward myself every day; a movie, pets, yoga, strategic gaming, etc.

6--Blog and voice my views.

7--Sleep.
